In April 79 we left the Phillipines and headed for a slow cruise to Hawaii. Early one morning after leaving the Gilberts we found ourselves off a small coral atoll which smelled really bad and later that afternoon we went south to another island and slowly cruised just off the reef flat for a couple of hours.
